Six Second Run · Last updated 19 October 2026
The short version
- Six Second Run collects nothing about you or your child.
- Everything your child does in the app stays on your device.
- The app sends nothing over the internet. It has no accounts, adverts, analytics or tracking.
- The only exceptions are yours: from the grown-ups area you can share a progress report, move progress to another phone, or send us feedback. Each uses your own apps, and you choose where it goes.
Who we are
Six Second Run is made by Pratyusha Jagarlapudi (“we” or “us”). It is a times tables game for children preparing for the Year 4 Multiplication Tables Check. You can contact us at hello@sixsecondrun.co.uk.
What the app keeps on your device
To work, the app remembers:
- your child’s answers to each times tables fact: right or wrong, how long they took, and when that fact was last practised
- Practice Check scores and the facts missed
- stickers, coins, rides, clothes bought with coins earned in the game, and how your child’s runner looks (skin tone and hair)
- which days the app was played
- your child’s first name or nickname, but only if you add one
- settings, and how long the grown-ups area stays locked after wrong answers
All of this stays in the app’s own storage on your device. We cannot see it, and it is never sent to us or to anyone else. On Android it is also left out of Google’s cloud backups.
The app uses your child’s answers to choose the next questions, so that they practise the facts they find hardest. This happens only on the device.
The name is optional and only a grown-up can add it. The app uses it only to cheer your child on (“Great run, Maya!”).
How to delete it
In the app, open For grown-ups and, under Reset progress, hold the button for three seconds. This deletes everything except the settings. Uninstalling the app deletes everything. If you made a code to move progress to another phone, delete it from wherever you saved or sent it.
What the app sends
Nothing. The app does not connect to any server. It has no accounts, adverts, analytics, crash reporting or tracking, and it contains no code from other companies that collects data. It does not use the advertising ID, and it never asks to use your location, camera, microphone, contacts or photos.
If you choose to share
Three things in the grown-ups area pass information to another app that you choose. The grown-ups area is behind a check designed for adults, so that children don’t use them.
Share progress makes a short text report: the predicted score, stickers, rides, days played and the last Practice Check, and your child’s name only if you leave it in. You see the whole report first. Your device’s share menu then sends it with the app you pick, for example a message to a teacher. It goes to the people you send it to, not to us.
Move progress to another phone makes a code that holds all the progress listed above, including your child’s name if you added one, but not the settings. Your device’s share menu or clipboard passes it to an app you choose, for example an email to yourself, and you paste it into Six Second Run on the other phone or tablet. The app looks at the clipboard only when you tap Paste code, and it checks the code and shows you what it holds before anything there is replaced. The code goes only where you put it, never to us. Anyone who has it can read the progress in it, so keep it private and delete it once you have used it.
Send feedback opens your own email app with a message to us: three questions, followed by the app’s build, your Android version and your phone model. You can read, change or delete any of it, and nothing is sent unless you send it.
If you email us
We receive your email address, your message and anything else you include. We use them only to reply to you and to improve the app; under UK data protection law, this is our legitimate interest in answering the feedback you chose to send. We never sell or share your email, and we delete it once we no longer need it for that. Please don’t tell us more about your child than you need to.
Children
Six Second Run is made for children, so we designed it to follow the Information Commissioner’s Office’s Age Appropriate Design Code (the Children’s code): no data leaves the device, there is nothing to switch off, there are no adverts or in-app purchases, and the app does not push children to keep playing.
App stores
Google Play handles downloads and updates under Google’s own privacy policy. Google may show us overall statistics, such as the number of installs and how often the app crashes. Google collects these itself, only from people who have agreed to share them with Google, and they do not tell us who you are.
This website
This website has no cookies, adverts, analytics or tracking, and it loads nothing from other companies. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which needs your device’s IP address to send you the page and may keep it for a short time in its logs to protect the site from attacks (see Cloudflare’s privacy policy).
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us what we hold about you (at most, emails you have sent us), and ask us to correct or delete it. Email hello@sixsecondrun.co.uk. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
If what the app does with information ever changes, we will update this page, with a new date, before the change reaches the app.
